“During my stay at the University of Sarajevo on a Join Penta EU-SEE, Erasmus Mundus scholarship from December 29, 2015 – June 29, 2016, I worked at the Faculty of Philosophy’s Department of History on my project-article to be submitted to the European Review of History. The article is part of a special issue dedicated to the voluntary organizations in the Yugoslav space. The editors of the special issue are Fabio Giomi (Paris) and Stefano Petrungaro (Regensburg). I conducted library research in Sarajevo as well as archival research in the Archives of the Canton Tuzla and in the Archives of Yugoslavia in Belgrade. This research is also very important for my habilitation project dealing with “traditional” civil society on late socialism and transformation in Southeast Europe. The research conducted during my stay at the University of Sarajevo is crucial for my work on the habilitation project and I am very satisfied with the support I received there. In the following years my home institution aims to organize a conference or workshop in cooperation with the University of Sarajevo.”

“I am a visiting researcher at the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Sarajevo. The purpose of my visit is to collect data for my PhD thesis that deals with the Praxis school, a Marxist humanist philosophical movement that originated in 1960s in Yugoslavia. My research at the Faculty of Philosophy at the University of Sarajevo relates to following aspects: forms of Marxism in Sarajevo, the communication and cooperation between Zagreb and Sarajevo; and the participation of Sarajevo professors and philosophers in particular in the Praxis project. I hope that this research will give both significant added value to my thesis as well as to the general mapping of the intellectual production in Sarajevo which was not very often in the centre of scientific research.

I would also like to use this opportunity to recommend the Faculty of Philosophy to other researchers who deal either with Bosnian and Herzegovinan or Yugoslav culture, language or legal and intellectual history.

During the research, advice and understanding that I found at the Faculty were invaluable to me. I am immensely thankful to all, especially to Professor Sulejman Bosto who was my contact person. I hope that the end of my research (which is near) would also become a beginning of a future cooperation and closer communication between young scholars and researchers of my home institution and here in Sarajevo.”

Within CEEPUS, in the status of “freemover”, I stayed at the Faculty of Philosophy in Sarajevo, at the Department of Slavic Languages and Literatures from April to June 2014. The purpose of my visit was to prepare materials and provide researching for the thesis with the working title "The terms ´narodni – nacionalni – etnički´ in identification discourse in Bosnia and Herzegovina". Vice-Dean Ksenija Kondali and other professors, with whom I have consulted regarding my materials, gave me tremendous support, both scientific and human, and referred me to the proper sources of information and data. I am very grateful to all of them. As a sign of gratitude to stay at this faculty, I launched an initiative to establish cooperation between our two faculties. I believe that other students will have the opportunity to stay at the Faculty of Philosophy in Sarajevo and increase their academic knowledge and experience.
