During my stay at Matej Bel University (Faculty of Arts, Department of English and American Studies) from April 3-8, 2017, I taught 8 hours on current trends in contemporary English and applied linguistics. The topics discussed tackled inter-cultural aspects of language acquisition and production. Students actively participated in seminars on word formation processes and the importance of staying up-to-date with trends in contemporary studies of not only the English language but other languages as well.

Amela Ljevo-Ovčina | Erasmus+ Mobilnost nastavnog osoblja na Šleskom univerzitetu u Katovicama

U okviru programa razmjene Erasmus + Mobilnost nastavnog osoblja u periodu od 12. do 16. 12. 2016. boravila sam na Šleskom univerzitetu u Katovicama, na Institutu za slavenske filologije (Uniwersytet Śląski w Katowicach, Wydział Filologiczny, Instytut Filologii Słowiańskiej). Održala sam 8 sati predavanja na sljedeće teme: „Roman Derviš i smrt Meše Selimovića u kulturološkom i jezičkom kontekstu“ i „Standardna i stilogena upotreba skraćenica na primjeru štampe“. Odaziv studenata bio je izuzetno dobar, predavanjima su prisustvovali studenti prve, treće i pete godine.

Tehnička organizacija mog boravka na Šleskom univerzitetu, kao i prijem i gostoprimstvo kolega i administrativnog osoblja bili su na najvišem nivou. Na predavanjima sam imala odličnu interakciju sa studentima pa je boraviti u Poljskoj bilo prijatno i ugodno a studentima zanimljivo i korisno.

My name is Saida Rovčanin and I am a third-year student at the Department of Pedagogy, Faculty of Philosophy, University of Sarajevo. After reading information about Erasmus+ mobility and discussing it with my professors, in summer 2016 I decided to sign up for a student mobility grant to go to Jyväskylä University in Finland. The application procedure was simple and they accepted me. At the beginning I wanted to stay only one semester, but I was offered to extend it for the whole academic year and I am very happy about it because I think that I may achieve substantially more progress. I get a monthly scholarship, which is more than enough so I am very satisfied. I would recommend that other students apply and visit Finland, they have a very well organized educational system, and here you can get to know people from different countries. This is a unique opportunity to learn much more about everything and get new experiences. If you get a chance, do not miss it -- be curious and dare!

 

Erasmus+ Staff Training Mobility – A Short Report by Dr. Amir Duranović

Within the framework of Erasmus+ Staff Training Mobility, I spent two weeks at the Humboldt University in Berlin, Germany, in September 2016.

The main objectives of the mobility program were completed under three key words: Historiography – Methodology – Teaching. In order to analyse the state of scholarship on South-East European History done at the Chair for South-East European History at the Humboldt University, I have examined goals and the results of the abovementioned Chair in research of South East European History by using the framework of provided academic environment, facilities and expertise. In doing so, I have focused my attention to the second main objective which is the Methodology used in research on South East European History. This goal happened to be central in my mobility plan since new trends in methodological approaches used at the Humboldt University may give positive results in development of similar patterns at my home institution, the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Sarajevo. Finally, as a third part, I have examined the latest in teaching methods as a communication tool directed towards the students in presentation of research based knowledge.

The key outcome of this training mobility was a comprehensive view on research and teaching strategies used by Humboldt University staff members as a model that might be implemented at the University of Sarajevo. Once gathered as input information, all results obtained during training mobility stay in Berlin may be used a guide for curricular reform in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
